About Imaatu

about image

Imaatu Fulani (formerly known as Fulani) embodies sex-appeal, elegance and glamour.

The name ‘Imaatu’ originated from the designer’s name, Omatu, which is the short version of her traditional name fully spelt ‘Omumatu’ in the Igbo language. Some other Igbo dialects use Imaatu or Ime-atu instead, which means 'example'.

A typical Imaatu Fulani piece emphasizes the feminine charms, and is ready to wear chic couture. Premium fabrics, colorful and patterned are a signature feature of a Imaatu Fulani design.

Launched in 2003, Imaatu Fulani rapidly gained exposure.

Represented at international trade shows, celebrities and HNWI were drawn to the up and coming fashion brand.

Omatu, head designer, singer/song-writer, and Sandra who is currently advising as a consultant are the creative minds behind the contemporary brand.
